Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health

Job Summary:

Klamath Basin Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our psychiatric services team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain client rooms, including stocking and cleaning.
  • Take vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference, pulse, and respirations, with accuracy.
  • Administer injections, including deltoid, gluteal, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections, correctly.
  • Record client information in medical records.
  • Assist licensed staff with lab results tracking and follow-up.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in all encounters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Psychiatry Department Office Manager.
  • Provide support to psychiatric providers, including labs, entering medications, telephone contact with clients, medical offices, and community partners, refilling prescriptions, contacting insurance companies, and other support duties as needed.
  • Document client concerns and symptoms accurately.
  • Provide education to clients, families, or guardians and document actions.
  • Maintain medication samples and work with pharmaceutical representatives to provide appropriate stock of sample medication.
  • Interact with clients, family members, clinical staff, and administrative staff as a liaison for psychiatric providers to provide information and address basic requests/needs on behalf of the providers.
  • Request and communicate needed information from other agencies, physicians, family members, community partners that enhances care for KBBH clients.
  • Complete all documentation in client records in a timely manner in accordance with KBBH policies and applicable statues and rules.
  • Document appropriate services, such as screenings, medication education, case management in KBBH electronic health record.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or higher education required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Current CPR certification required.
