Licensure/Registration/Certification: Current Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Regularly walking and standing. Frequently lifting 50 pounds or more, along with pulling, stooping, and reaching. Occasionally sitting while documenting; pushing, twisting, and kneeling during patient care. Potential exposure to hospital-acquired infections. Regularly operates, maintains, and troubleshoots medical equipment. Must be physically capable of stooping, bending, reaching, and frequently lifting 50 pounds or more. Continuous walking and/or standing throughout the shift is required. Must adhere to safe body mechanics as per Sky Lakes Medical Center policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Exhibits the ability to conduct an assessment for Respiratory Therapist Driven Protocol that encompasses: Subjective Data, Objective Data, Assessment Data, and Care Plan.
- Demonstrates the capability to perform assessments for Respiratory Therapist Driven Protocol at frequencies as specified by the TDP policy and procedure.
- Shows proficiency in documenting physician orders that include date and time, method of order receipt, and signature.
- Completes monthly intubation competency evaluations.
- Successfully finishes the cardiopulmonary competency booklet.
- Responds promptly to designated areas when codes for cardiopulmonary resuscitation are announced.
- Facilitates staff development courses for fellow healthcare professionals.
- Exhibits competence in alignment with the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives of the organization.
- Develops patient education plans, delivers care, and performs tasks utilizing job skills while enhancing knowledge specific to the patient's age and/or developmental stage.
- While executing job responsibilities, acknowledges and respects the cultural and spiritual practices of patients.
- Evaluates the physical needs and functional status of patients to provide effective care.
- Maintains a tidy, organized, and safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
