Position Overview
The Vice President of Technology Operations and Incident Response plays a crucial role in the operational and client service framework at Wedbush. This position is responsible for strategic planning, ongoing enhancements, and managing daily responses to technology-related incidents. The VP will lead a team focused on addressing technology events that affect our operations and will oversee both internal and external communications during these incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete incident management lifecycle, from detection to resolution and subsequent analysis.
- Assess and categorize incidents based on their severity and impact on business functions.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external partners to ensure swift incident resolution.
- Keep all stakeholders updated with regular communications regarding incident status and resolution efforts.
- Implement and manage incident management tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analyses for significant incidents and develop preventive strategies to reduce future occurrences.
- Revise and maintain incident management policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide support and guidance to IT teams during incident response initiatives.
- Monitor incident trends and identify areas for process improvement.
- Work in conjunction with other IT service management functions, such as problem and change management, to ensure cohesive operations.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in IT incident management or a similar role within the IT and Financial sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of ITIL incident management processes and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, skilled in engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with incident management tools and systems.
- Understanding of service management frameworks like ITIL.
- Experience with IT service management software, such as ServiceNow.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
