Hydrologist - Environmental Compliance Specialist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled hydrologist to contribute to the closure operations at the Grants Reclamation Project (GRP). The ideal candidate will oversee the groundwater monitoring initiatives at the site while ensuring adherence to environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the closure manager by conducting sophisticated hydrogeologic evaluations, providing strategic recommendations for operations and closure, and mentoring junior technical staff.
- Ensure comprehensive collection, analysis, and interpretation of hydrogeologic data for effective communication with stakeholders and management.
- Manage the preparation and timely submission of hydrogeologic reports on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis in compliance with reporting standards.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting for hydrogeologic projects, ensuring clear communication across all initiatives.
- Support water management strategies and data organization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific Nuclear Regulatory Commission License SUA-1471, New Mexico Environmental Department Permit DP-200, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve site objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree in hydrogeology, geology, hydrology, civil engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years of experience in groundwater remediation is desirable.
- Familiarity with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well field balancing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of advanced hydrogeology and hydrology principles is preferred.
- Experience with environmental monitoring and compliance is beneficial.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and effectively convey results to various audiences is essential.
- Proven capability to work independently and within small, multidisciplinary teams is required.
- Familiarity with hydrogeologic modeling techniques is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., MS Office, EQuIS, GIS, or other data management software) are required.
