  • Monday- Friday: Shift Rotation
    • 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm
    • 2 or 3 nights per month on call or as needed
  • Every 4th weekend
Job Overview

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will be tasked with the proficient and effective administration of various respiratory therapies and additional cardiopulmonary services to patients across all age groups, from infants to adults. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization, postural drainage, ventilator management, CPAP/BIPAP, pulmonary rehabilitation, pulmonary function assessments, EKGs, and other specialized diagnostic evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration
  • Engage closely with Physicians/Providers and Nursing staff.
  • Ability to guide and collaborate with care providers to ensure optimal respiratory care.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a cooperative work ethic.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Accountable for daily shift reports and maintaining patient log sheets.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all necessary information in the electronic medical record.
  • Complete all billing for services rendered in electronic medical records.
  • Assist the director in gathering performance improvement data as required.
Equipment Management
  • Therapists must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of medical equipment.
  • Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies for department operations.
  • Attend all training sessions on new equipment and adhere to infection control policies.
Patient Care Services
  • Engage in a range of professional skills tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Utilize evaluations and treatment techniques in accordance with established protocols.
  • Capable of managing emergent patient care situations effectively.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet patient and departmental needs.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and mandatory training sessions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of relevant equipment.
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by the American Medical Association.
Licensure and Certification
  • Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Possess a current State of Minnesota Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
