Key Responsibilities:

Engage in advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance tasks across various skilled trades.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, performing adjustments, executing installations, and maintaining buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.

Manage paperwork related to work orders, projects, and material requisitions efficiently.


Attend work regularly and may be required to adhere to specific shift schedules, including rotating shifts, extended hours, or overtime as per agency policy.

May participate in an on-call rotation to meet the operational needs of the facility.

Conduct inspections and maintenance work in compliance with established codes and standards across various trades such as plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical systems.

Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools and equipment while performing repairs or inspections.

Assess work requirements and determine the most effective methods for maintenance and repair tasks.


Execute renovations to modernize facilities or adapt them for new purposes, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Identify necessary information, including timeframes and physical locations, and ensure the availability of required materials and manpower.

Conduct in-process inspections to verify that work is performed correctly.


Select appropriate materials for repairs and replacements, recognizing equipment failures and determining necessary corrective actions.

Act as a lead worker on construction and maintenance projects, establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, and overseeing renovations.

Maintain safe and uninterrupted services to campus operations, identifying the need for repairs and adjustments as necessary.


Utilize hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment as required.

Accurately process paperwork and maintain records related to work orders and material requisitions.

May operate machinery such as backhoes and forklifts as needed, demonstrating safe operational practices.

Provide training to others on proper repair and inspection procedures, maintaining training records for staff.

Other duties may include participating in disaster response and recovery efforts or continuity of operations activities, which may require adjustments to shift patterns or locations.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Comprehensive understanding of building repair, maintenance, and operations.

Familiarity with electronics, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and carpentry, as well as knowledge of building materials and safety regulations.

Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Ability to conduct preventative maintenance and inspections effectively.

Competence in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.

Strong organizational skills for managing preventive maintenance programs.

Ability to supervise others and work collaboratively or independently.

Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with team members and facility staff.
