Position Overview:

The Warehouse Inventory Auditor plays a crucial role in executing physical counts of merchandise and components within the storage facility, ensuring alignment with system records to uphold inventory precision and completeness. This role involves probing and rectifying discrepancies in inventory documentation, including quantity counts and item placements, while also updating inventory databases with verified information. The Warehouse Inventory Auditor collaborates closely with fellow team members to sustain inventory integrity and propose enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verifies stock locations in the warehouse utilizing computer systems and handheld scanners to confirm that items are organized according to their designated locations.

• Adjusts inventory levels when audits indicate deviations from anticipated figures.

• Alerts supervisors or management when stock levels significantly diverge from expectations to facilitate decision-making on corrective measures.

• Conducts root cause analysis to identify reasons for discrepancies in product counts and/or placements.

• Operates forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to retrieve pallets containing items and return them to storage.

• Addresses inquiries from staff regarding product identification and locations, providing assistance as necessary.

• Aids in receiving operations, including unloading shipments, confirming quantities, and updating inventory records.

• Adheres to established safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

• Maintains a tidy and organized workspace.

• Identifies and reports quality or safety concerns to supervisors or management.

• Collaborates effectively with colleagues and supervisors, sharing knowledge and resources to achieve operational goals efficiently while fostering respect, communication, and teamwork.

• Performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Skills and Competencies:

• Detail-oriented: Must possess the ability to accurately count and document inventory levels.

• Proficient in computer usage: Must be capable of entering data swiftly and accurately into computer systems and spreadsheets.

• Basic mathematical skills: Necessary for precise inventory counting and recording quantities accurately.

• Time management: Ability to manage time effectively to complete counting tasks promptly.

• Communication: Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with warehouse personnel.

• Organizational skills: Must maintain an organized approach to tracking inventory levels, discrepancies, and system updates.

• Independent work: Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions based on observations and knowledge of inventory systems.

• Adherence to instructions: Capability to follow established procedures while performing tasks and using tools.

• Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Preferred Background:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum of one year of experience in a warehouse setting.

• Familiarity with inventory management systems similar to SysPro.

  • Physical dexterity: The employee must be capable of bending, twisting, and reaching while handling boxes. The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands for handling and feeling, and to hear.
  • Lifting: The employee must be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs. regularly, and boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision: The vision requirements for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Endurance: The employee must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to elements: The employee will work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions, as well as frequent exposure to dirt and dust.
  • Noise level: The employee will experience moderate noise levels in the workplace due to the continuous use of forklifts and hand-held power tools.

$19.00-$26.00/hr
