POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Clinical Manager is accountable for overseeing all operational facets of clinical services, which include workflow management, staffing, and financial performance within the Clinic and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The role aims to ensure the delivery of efficient, effective, safe, and comprehensive patient care while achieving organizational goals. This position fosters a collaborative atmosphere by working closely with management and physician leadership on strategic initiatives and ongoing quality enhancement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees Clinic Supervisors, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and the ASC Manager.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates and directs patient care services; evaluates all aspects of care delivery.
- Provides clinical leadership and oversight to staff; ensures adherence to clinical practice and quality management standards.
- Demonstrates effective delegation and coordination of tasks within the clinic and ASC.
- Establishes expectations and exemplifies behaviors that reflect service excellence.
- Assesses staffing requirements based on patient care needs and operational demands.
- Collaborates with physicians and staff to enhance customer service and patient satisfaction.
- Offers guidance on complex clinical scenarios with composure and confidence.
- Exhibits strong leadership through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Delegates responsibilities appropriately based on staff capabilities.
- Supports staff in adapting to changes and fosters a positive work environment.
- Ensures compliance with policies and regulatory standards, leading safety and quality initiatives.
- Participates in the recruitment and onboarding of qualified candidates.
- Manages employee performance through continuous coaching and development.
- Acts as a resource for ASC Supervisors.
- Addresses performance issues effectively, collaborating with Human Resources as necessary.
- Maintains effective communication and accountability for clinical operations.

- Monitors budget allocations and resource planning.

QUALIFICATIONS
- RN degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
- Active State of Maine Nursing license or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience with prior leadership roles.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Understanding of budgeting and financial management.
- Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Knowledge of risk management and patient safety protocols.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with effective time management skills.
