Position Overview:
The Sustainment Support Specialist will act as a pivotal resource for clients, leveraging extensive expertise in the Department of Defense's (DoD) lifecycle management and product support methodologies to facilitate effective and economical capability delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison for clients, applying in-depth knowledge of product support principles to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with acquisition initiatives to evaluate, implement, monitor, and provide insights on pertinent sustainment policies and guidance related to intellectual property management.
- Contribute to the alignment of departmental sustainment, logistics, and intellectual property strategies.
- Assist in cultivating the sustainment workforce by promoting innovative strategies for addressing intellectual property and data rights issues.
- Analyze and propose enhancements to sustainment policies, processes, and procedures concerning intellectual property management.
- Formulate actionable recommendations and execute strategic plans in response to updates in regulations and policies.
- Design and implement innovative approaches for the deployment of new sustainment policy initiatives and assess their effectiveness.
- Engage in complex problem-solving, providing creative solutions and serving as a representative for organizational projects.
- Work autonomously in a dynamic environment, maintaining direct communication with clients.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting DoD acquisition programs.
- Proven track record in a DoD acquisition program, Program Executive Office, or Service- or OSD-level acquisition office.
- Experience in developing sustainment-related documentation and analyses, including Lifecycle Support Plans and Business Case Analyses.
- Possession of a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the implementation of DoD acquisition and sustainment protocols.
- Experience as an OSD staff action officer, including policy coordination and congressional engagement.
- Knowledge of intellectual property and data rights challenges throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
- Experience facilitating high-level meetings in both physical and virtual settings.
- Involvement in workforce development initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
Clearance Requirements:
Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
