Job Overview

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily functions of the warehouse by effectively leading Warehouse Supervisors, Leads, Drivers, and Warehouse Workers, while collaborating with Amtrak personnel. As a key figure in the operational hierarchy, the Warehouse Manager formulates and executes strategies to meet the objectives of both the Company and its client, Amtrak.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for supervising Warehouse Supervisors and staff to ensure operational excellence in line with established business process compliance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Guarantees that daily operations are executed as planned.
  • Assists the Assistant General Manager in troubleshooting, assessing the effectiveness of operations, and proposing alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely movement and processing of products; manages to optimize warehouse layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Mentors, trains, and develops Warehouse Supervisors to enhance their performance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and counseling of staff to provide continuous support and development. Utilizes leadership skills to establish goals for frontline teams and offers regular performance feedback through available management resources, including work observations.
  • Oversees hourly employees to ensure adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Disciplinary Guidelines/Work Rules, and Attendance Policy.
  • Promotes and exemplifies a culture of safety leadership and recognition, alongside all key initiatives related to core values, to foster a positive work environment within the Commissary. Ensures full implementation of Aramark Safety Programs and compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in leading an operations team.
  • Experience in customer service leadership, foodservice or route sales operations, performance management, and training and development of frontline managers/personnel is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be capable of obtaining DOT certification for operating DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Strong client interaction, communication, organizational/time management, multitasking, detail-oriented, accuracy-driven, and proficient computer skills are essential for success in this role.
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently is also crucial.
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and experience in handling perishable products is required.
  • Background in industries such as vending, food service, route distribution (e.g., uniform distribution or customer products), and retail is preferred.
  • Must be available to work various shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
