We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Desmet Ballestra. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and developing process plant control systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop process plant control systems using PLC/SCADA products from leading automation suppliers.
- Develop HMI screens and conduct internal and external FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) for PLC/HMI systems.
- Coordinate with projects and process teams during software development and commissioning stages.
- Travel to sites for start-up and commissioning of automation systems.
- Conduct IO tests and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests) with clients and group office site engineers.
- Engineering degree in Electro-Mechanical or Automation.
- Ability to independently develop software and commission plants/machines.
- Exposure to STL/LAD/FBD programming.
- Knowledge and hands-on work experience with PLC/SCADA products from leading automation suppliers.
- Sound knowledge of field/process safety and hazardous area classifications.
- Good communication and planning skills.
- Pro-active and self-driven attitude.
- Ability to learn quickly and bring creative solutions to problems.
- Fluent knowledge of English and French (any other language will be an asset).
