Join Corning Incorporated, a global leader in materials science, as a Development Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new extrusion processes and products related to optical and copper cables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with development engineers to design and develop new processes, technologies, and test methods for cable production.
  • Conduct experiments to gain fundamental understanding, mitigate risks, and define capabilities that deliver solutions designed for manufacturing.
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts to identify key processing technologies and determine feasibility and capabilities.
  • Provide project support to evaluate process concepts through configuration and modification of lab or plant-based equipment.
  • Solve problems and improve processes based on fundamental understanding.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree (Preferred) with 3+ years of manufacturing or product development experience OR 6+ years of similar work experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills utilizing structured techniques.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to share and clearly express technical ideas.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with extrusion highly desired.
  • Experience in computer-aided design to create tooling, parts, products, or manufacturing processes.
  • PLC programming skills with experience with electrical controls and measurement systems.
