Job Title: Child Abuse Pediatrician

Connecticut Children's is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team. As a key member of our SCAN (Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect) team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, to children from birth through adolescence.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform medical evaluations and recommend management for children and adolescents affected by suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Provide outpatient consultation for patients at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and satellite locations with suspected abuse or neglect.
  • Conduct comprehensive anogenital evaluations with photo documentation and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
  • Answer and return telephone calls to patient families, physicians, and other providers or agencies.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and provide testimony regarding child abuse cases as requested by courts and other official entities.
  • Teach and educate students, residents, and other healthcare providers involved in evaluating children and adolescents affected by suspected child abuse.
  • Develop and implement best practices regarding child abuse medical evaluations and treatment in the region.
Qualifications:
  • Board certification or eligibility in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Current State of Connecticut MD licensure required and maintained thereafter.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and maintained thereafter.
