Accounting Specialist

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing various accounting activities, including data entry, reviewing payables for accuracy, issuing A/R invoices, preparing daily bank deposits, and preparing bank reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform accounting activities, including data entry, reviewing payables, and issuing A/R invoices
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and bank reconciliations
  • Assist internal customers with various requests
  • Contribute to the department's commitment to continuous improvement
  • Assist with projects and audits, as assigned
Requirements:
  • Preferred Associate's Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Relevant experience includes accounting functions in for-profit, not-for-profit, and/or governmental environments
  • Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License
  • N.Y.S. Central Registry Clearance
