Job Description

Unique Development is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Coordinator to contribute to the financial health of the organization. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and related documentation.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
  • Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.
  • Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate finance initiatives.
  • Utilize accounting software and financial software for efficient data management.
  • Stay updated on financial concepts and industry trends to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Keep records of sub-contractor insurance, and follow up when insurances are insufficient
  • Invoice Customers/Clients in AIA format.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques and concepts.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial software applications.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of tax regulations and reporting processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Account within a construction company.
  • High level of knowledge within the Microsoft Office platform of products.
  • Familiarity with SAGE or similar Accounting Systems.
