Key Responsibilities
The Vice President of Claims will play a pivotal role in leading technical excellence within the Private Not for Profit Management Liability sector. This position entails managing high-stakes claims and guiding the management liability claims team. Responsibilities include:
- Directly overseeing high severity Directors and Officers (D&O) claims, with some involvement in Employment Practices Liability (EPL) and fiduciary claims, primarily concerning Public Companies.
- Delivering training and technical support to claims professionals.
- Ensuring adherence to Best Practices and departmental protocols.
- Staying informed on litigation trends and regulatory changes impacting professional liability.
- Presenting complex claims and industry trends to senior management.
- Analyzing claims data to aid in risk management and exposure mitigation.
- Collaborating closely with Underwriting teams during risk assessments and account discussions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance claims.
- Extensive experience in managing complex, high severity management liability claims is essential.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient analytical skills.
- Capability to provide technical guidance in a fast-paced environment while managing a complex caseload.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to identify trends and risks to support management and underwriting in policy development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
