Human Factors Integration Specialist

Job Overview:

The Human Systems Integration Engineer II plays a crucial role in incorporating human factors into the engineering and development processes of NAVWAR systems. This position involves performing thorough evaluations of requirements, concepts, and resources across various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and refine documentation to support architectural frameworks, specifications, and standards.
  • Assist in all facets of systems engineering tasks, including the creation and assessment of acquisition engineering documentation.
  • Evaluate acquisition engineering documentation for initiatives in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E).
  • Contribute insights on Systems Integration requirements and strategies.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of customer-related requirements.
  • Education: A degree from an ABET-accredited program in an engineering discipline or a degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience in Human Systems Integration (HSI) engineering.
  • Security Clearance: An active Secret clearance is necessary.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas:
    • HSI design, installation, integration, and testing support.
    • Multi-domain HSI engineering assessments, impact evaluations, and tradeoff analyses of complex systems.
    • Creation of design documentation/specifications.
    • HSI-related engineering requirements, performance metrics, and risk assessments.
    • HSI test planning, procedure development, execution, analysis, and reporting.
    • Understanding of Naval operations from unit through operational staff and HQ levels.
    • Conducting mission task analysis, top-down functional analysis, and critical task analysis.
    • Researching and analyzing missions, tactics, equipment, interfaces, and resource allocation in new and evolving systems.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with certification-related functions pertinent to the NAVWAR Information Assurance Technical Authority mission and processes, including Risk Management Framework (RMF), Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR), cyber risks to mission, and cybersecurity readiness.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to convey information clearly and concisely in both written and oral formats.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) system documentation.
  • Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
