Overview

The Student Success Advisor plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and effective educational environment for learners, aimed at enhancing student retention, achievement, and degree completion. This position involves guiding students in setting academic objectives and maintaining ongoing communication to ensure the successful realization of these goals. The role requires a commitment of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, with the possibility of extended hours, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides individualized coaching focused on academic development.
  • Works collaboratively with essential stakeholders to address and improve students' academic performance, including advisors, instructors, and program coordinators.
  • Monitors student progress closely through effective communication and analytical tools to ensure attendance and academic success.
  • Assists students in resolving challenges and directs them to suitable campus resources.
  • Takes the lead on early intervention strategies, implementation, and follow-up for students flagged for support.
  • Guides students in setting ambitious goals to foster high levels of engagement and academic achievement.
  • Designs and implements programs aimed at transition and retention to enhance student success.
  • Performs additional duties as required or directed.
Qualifications and Experience

Education

Preferred: Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Educational Development, or Higher Education.

Preferred: Two years of experience in Student Affairs, Academic Services, or a related field in higher education.

Skills and Certifications

Preferred: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems, such as Jenzabar EX. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential.
