Student Success Advocate for Higher Education Institutions

About the RoleAs a Student Success Advocate for Higher Education Institutions, you will play a vital role in supporting students on their academic journey. You will be responsible for providing one-on-one and small-group support to students on academic probation, first-year students, and other students assigned to your caseload. Your primary goal will be to help students achieve their academic goals and succeed in their college career.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide consistent one-on-one and small-group support to students, including tracking and monitoring their progress, reporting on progress and program requirements fulfillment, and fostering supportive relationships with faculty and staff.
- Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for students at Saluqi Success Hubs, delivering excellent customer service and presenting information on college wrap-around support services.
- Collaboration: Foster and maintain professional relationships with college faculty and staff, collaborate with academic deans and Career and Academic Community managers to support students in an assigned academic division, and present Student Success Workshops at assigned campuses, centers, and sites.
- Case Management: Process intake forms to determine student support needs, establish, track, and monitor individualized Student Success Contracts based on students' specific needs, and cross-train in proactive advising, early alerts referrals, case management, and advising platforms.
- Representation: Represent the Office of Student Success at college events and serve on assigned committees, such as the First Scholars Committee, hiring committees, Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Committee, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree
- One to three years of customer service work experience
- Ability to meet deadlines, organize, prioritize tasks, and work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information in compliance with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and institutional policies and procedures
- Interact effectively with an ever-growing College population
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with time management, stress management, and conflict resolution techniques
- Proficiency in operating various software programs, including Microsoft Teams
- Experience in student personnel services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of FERPA regulations
- Experience with Slate and Banner
- Significant strategic and analytical capacity
- Experience using spreadsheet and presentation software, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
