Job Description

The City of New York is seeking a skilled Accrual Analyst to join the Agency Payment Unit (APU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage prior year accruals and confirm that vouchered expenses are journaled to the appropriate fiscal year.
  • Process journal entries using backup documents from PASSPort invoices and Program Expense Report Summaries (PERS).
  • Submit ACL Manual Accrual Clearing document via Financial Management System (FMS) to the New York City Comptrollers Office and provide backup documentation to support the clearing entry based on a sample audit.
  • Reconcile with FMS and maintain accurate records.

Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
