Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician / Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This individual is tasked with executing essential maintenance functions that are economically viable, strategically focused, technically advanced, and safely conducted. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and/or general facilities maintenance technicians, this role encompasses all mid-level maintenance responsibilities.

  • Proficient in utilizing testing equipment, including various meters and hand tools.
  • Possess a general understanding of hardware components.
  • Communicate effectively with leads to address maintenance concerns.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating motors.
  • Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Transport necessary equipment to fulfill maintenance duties.
  • Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and execute basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems (e.g., unclogging drains).
  • Implement the Lockout/Tagout system prior to commencing any maintenance tasks.
  • Execute repairs on electrical systems, including the installation of MC cable and work within electrical panels.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the cannabis sector is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • General knowledge of workplace safety and health standards.
  • Completion of a general maintenance course or willingness to undergo training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or ability to learn about AC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Employee Conduct and Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry items necessary for repairs and maintenance.
  • Capable of lifting boxes, products, tools, and other necessary items.
  • Regularly perform maintenance tasks such as repair, diagnosis, cleaning, and inventory management.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs without assistance, with heavier lifting done with help.
  • Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
  • Work in various environments, including warehouses and outdoor settings, experiencing extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • This role may involve exposure to cannabis products in various forms.

Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required as necessary.
  • Typical work hours are between Monday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Occasional overnight shifts may be necessary.
  • Schedules are subject to change.
  • On-call duties may be required.
