Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Teacher to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing an instructional program in Instrumental Music for students in grades 6 through 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess student abilities and develop individualized educational plans to meet the needs of students within the City Schools curriculum framework.
  • Plan and implement engaging instructional strategies and activities to enhance student learning, utilizing a variety of materials and multimedia resources.
  • Develop and adapt educational materials, resources, and techniques to meet the needs of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage student behavior and maintain effective discipline and management procedures to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to maximize learning opportunities and support student achievement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or eligible for a conditional license in music.
  • Valid standard professional educator license appropriate to the subject taught.
  • Knowledge of federal laws protecting the educational services for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
