Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Music Teacher to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing an instructional program in Instrumental Music for students in grades 6 through 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess student abilities and develop individualized educational plans to meet the needs of students within the City Schools curriculum framework.
  • Plan and implement engaging and effective instructional strategies and activities to promote student learning and achievement.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to develop and implement school-wide instructional programs and activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support and resources they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Valid standard professional educator license appropriate to the subject taught.
  • Knowledge of federal laws protecting the educational services for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Instrumental Music in a public school setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance student learning.
