Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse II - Emergency Department

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse II will provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education to patients and families. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign assessments, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Provide education to patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure through the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in an emergency department setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
