Position Overview:
The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in conducting routine preventative maintenance on large industrial textile processing machinery, alongside general facility upkeep. This position collaborates closely with the Maintenance Technician and/or Chief Engineer as needed.

Compensation: $15 - $20 hourly, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, including monitoring oil levels and executing regular preventative maintenance on grease fittings, lint traps, and shaker screen barrels, as well as limited electrical troubleshooting.
  • Follow established guidelines and instructions to execute job functions.
  • Utilize limited experience and judgment to achieve goals.
  • Exhibit creativity and flexibility in problem-solving.
  • Assist in resolving issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with all plant personnel in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures mandated by Alsco and industry standards.
  • Ensure that work is conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions and perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
Additional Duties:
  • Support other branch personnel as required by supervision.
  • Transport parts and equipment as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in the use of power and hand tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow directions and perform basic math.
  • Exhibit teamwork, enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in quality work; be a self-starter committed to continuous improvement.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Engage in various physical activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting, with the ability to move equipment and transport loads up to 100 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings typical of an industrial laundry facility, involving large machinery and exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to procure parts.
