The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of environmental control systems and will be responsible for the upkeep of greenhouse facilities, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general facility maintenance autonomously.
  • Assist in the upkeep and repair of various pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, as well as electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate and manage ARGUS and PRIVA control systems effectively.
  • Replace lighting and ballasts as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently.
  • Facilitate furniture and equipment relocations.
  • Perform HVAC repairs and manage Greenhouse Operations and Systems.
  • Support the installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Evaluate maintenance operations and propose upgrades or cost-saving measures.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment utilized in facility management.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and address customer concerns.
  • Inspect electrical distribution systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of life safety and fire systems.
  • Adhere to safe work practices consistently.
  • Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives related to facility operations.
  • Plan and execute work requiring a thorough understanding of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles, as well as local and national electrical codes.

Qualifications:

  • Technical training or equivalent experience in electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with HVAC systems is highly desirable.
  • Background checks will be conducted.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with tools, materials, and supplies used in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • May be the sole maintenance staff member on duty during specific shifts and may need to work extended hours in emergency situations.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-10 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ARGUS and PRIVA Control Systems is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Varied work settings from small to large facilities.
  • Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and shoes may be required.
  • Fast-paced work environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to typical office and workshop conditions.
  • Regular exposure to dust, odors, and other environmental factors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to safely use ladders and perform tasks at heights.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
