Role Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a range of maintenance tasks, ensuring the upkeep and functionality of various facilities. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience and knowledge in multiple trades, including but not limited to grounds maintenance, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Compensation:

Hourly wage of $20.87, along with an additional $4.57 in fringe benefits applicable towards insurance and retirement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of maintenance duties such as replacing damaged hardware, electrical components, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency of machinery and facilities.
  • Assemble, install, or repair electrical systems, plumbing, and other equipment.
  • Order necessary parts and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledgeable in safety practices and building codes relevant to maintenance work.
  • Ability to adapt to various work situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or formal vocational training in building maintenance or utility trades.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
  • U.S. citizenship required for access to specific facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Capability to perform tasks involving standing, bending, and climbing.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
