Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Senior System Safety Engineer to enhance our Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) Safety team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior System Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Conducting thorough analyses of engineering components, including mechanical and electrical schematics, to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborating with system testing and operational procedures to implement effective safety controls.
  • Engaging with integrated product teams to mitigate risks and enhance safety measures.
  • Working closely with Program Management and regulatory authorities throughout the product lifecycle.
Additional Duties:
  • Executing System Safety Program analyses and assessments.
  • Managing large-scale safety programs, ensuring technical execution aligns with safety objectives.
  • Interfacing with stakeholders, including customers and subcontractors, to prepare Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs.
  • Presenting safety evaluations during technical reviews and safety approval processes.
  • Interpreting system requirements and military standards to guide safety initiatives.
  • Documenting analyses and findings relevant to the System Safety program.
  • Collaborating across disciplines to gain comprehensive insights into product design and architecture.
Qualifications Required:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Systems or Safety Engineering.
  • Proficiency in System Safety Engineering or related fields.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with command and control or weapon systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD System Safety Programs.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • A Master's degree in a STEM field.
