Radiology Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Department Manager to oversee the technical functions and day-to-day activities of our Radiology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operations, as well as providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Direct the activities of the Radiology Department, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Manage staff schedules and collaborate with direct reports to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental efficiency and productivity.
- Quality and Safety
- Ensure that all imaging procedures are performed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor ionizing radiation safety and participate in the Radiation Safety Committee.
- Maintain all ACR applications and accreditations for the department.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to develop and implement patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to direct reports.
- Administrative and Financial
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Monitor and analyze departmental data trends to inform decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including charge capture and supply management.
- Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- NYS DOH license and ARRT(R) certification required.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience required.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
The Radiology Department Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with patients, staff, and physicians. The successful candidate will be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time and will occasionally move about the department to access patients and paperwork.
