Clinical Operations Manager

The Assistant Clinical Manager directs and supervises daily operations, resources, employees, and performance improvement on a 24-hour basis in collaboration with the clinical nurse manager. This role is responsible for developing management skills to grow into higher-level management positions and assisting in the development and attainment of the unit's goals.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure staff provide high-quality, accessible, cost-effective care and patient-focused services while complying with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Assist with monitoring financial performance and identify/implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service while reviewing budgets for the appropriate use of human and material resources.
- Provide clinical supervision to patient care staff.
- Determine the appropriate staff mix for the department and screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.
- Assist with and resolve human resource, employee, and department safety, and risk management issues.
- Ensure ongoing staff development.
- Facilitate the advancement of nursing practice and assume twenty-four-hour responsibility.
- Monitor and develop standards of care and standards of practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure staff provides the highest quality of care and is in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Serve as a role model and mentor staff.
- Other duties as required.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Master's degree in Nursing or in a health-related field is preferred. Three (3) years clinical experience in specialty area. Epic user experience preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and teamwork. Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate appropriately.
License/Certification/Registration RequirementsCurrent CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered Nursing. Current Basic Lifesaving (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association per unit standards. Current Advanced Cardiac Lifesaving (ACLS) Certification - American Heart Association per unit standards. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics per unit standards. Specialty certification preferred.
