The Manassas facility enhances capabilities in soft chews and lozenges, equipped to produce cold-processed soft chews for nutritional supplements and nutraceuticals, alongside small batch lozenges. With extensive expertise in development and manufacturing, and a diverse array of flavors, ingredients, and colors, we collaborate on intricate formulations to create appealing new products for consumers.

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with established Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures and the Master Sanitation Schedule. This role involves following specific directives from Production Supervisors or designated Production Leads in alignment with the daily production agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks efficiently.
  • Sanitize all production machinery and equipment throughout the facility, including conveyor belts, screens, filters, kettles, pipes, walls, totes, sanding/oiling drums, tables, and maintain overall facility cleanliness.
  • Handle cleaning and sanitation chemicals while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Effectively manage the removal and disposal of waste and recycling.
  • Document all cleaning and sanitation activities accurately.
  • Utilize ATP bioluminescence devices to assess the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot the root causes of cleaning and sanitation issues, contributing to problem-solving efforts.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP), and Food Quality Plan (FQP).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic two and three-syllable words, recognizing similarities and differences in words and numbers, and to communicate simple sentences.
  • Knowledge of fundamental mechanical principles and cause-and-effect relationships is essential.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk; frequently required to use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs frequently.
