Position Overview

OCH Technologies LLC is in search of an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to provide advanced support for critical systems. This position entails intricate systems engineering, network design, database management, and high-level technical support in a diverse operational environment. The successful candidate will possess a wealth of experience in enterprise systems, proficient skills in both Linux and Windows platforms, and a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system interdependencies, complemented by exceptional documentation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor a dedicated team of systems engineers.
  • Architect and sustain sophisticated systems frameworks across various locations.
  • Devise and execute automation initiatives.
  • Oversee virtualization environments and uphold database security protocols.
  • Collaborate on the upkeep of web applications.
  • Establish and manage monitoring systems.
  • Engage in a 24/7 on-call schedule for urgent matters.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture and data flow diagrams.
  • Support configuration management and IT logistics functions.
  • Assist in systems testing and ongoing maintenance.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of information system security.
  • Regular travel to corporate and government facilities is necessary.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior capacity.
  • Proficient in Linux administration (CentOS, Rocky Linux, Red Hat).
  • Experience with VMware, various databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB), and web services/proxies (nginx, socat).
  • Expertise in automation tools, particularly Ansible.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), monitoring solutions (Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana), and patch management systems.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities in complex environments.
  • Ability to create detailed technical documentation and system diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FAA NAS systems.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with closed network systems and data streaming protocols.
  • Proficient in managing Jira tickets.
