Position Overview:


The Licensed Speech Language Specialist is tasked with the evaluation, assessment, planning, education, and delivery of habilitative or rehabilitative services for individuals who exhibit or are suspected of having disorders related to speech, voice, language, oral pharyngeal function, developmental challenges, or cognitive impairments.

Occasional travel may be necessary to provide services across various facilities. This overview outlines the primary duties and responsibilities, but does not encompass all tasks that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Must possess and maintain current certification.
• Ability to travel between facilities as required.
• Membership in a professional organization is preferred.

• Must demonstrate a commitment to and adherence to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct by following all policies and procedures, attending mandatory training, and promptly reporting any suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.


Educational Background / Licensure:
• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Must hold and maintain current BCLS certification, aligned with unit-specific requirements. Certification must comply with the AHA Healthcare Provider's Program curriculum.
• ASHA certificate of clinical competence.
• Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Texas.
• Clinical experience is preferred.
