Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Source Point Staffing. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care services to patients across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary mental health care services, emphasizing mental health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic mental health conditions.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, working autonomously and in collaboration with the patient care team to provide holistic health care.
  • Obtain health histories and perform basic neurological physical exams as necessary, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic mental health conditions in partnership with patients.
  • Prescribe psychoactive medications used to treat mental illness and emotional disorders through evidence-based practice modalities.
  • Facilitate admitting patients to hospitals and other higher levels of care as needed.
  • Document treatment reviews on each active client as dictated by relevant regulations.
  • Consult with Behavioral Health team members on cases as needed.
  • Provide consultation resources on mental health care to patients, families, and the community at large.
  • Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests within the scope of practice of psychiatric/mental health.
  • Participate in regular staffing meetings for case reviews, psychiatric consultations, and medical reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain behavioral health patient reports and records.
  • Contribute to the training of nurse practitioners, medical students, and medical residents.
  • Collaborate with BH midlevel providers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin and hold a valid DEA.
  • Completion of Psychiatry Residency from an accredited Psychiatry Program.
  • Board certification or eligibility for Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Working knowledge of social and cultural factors associated with community use of social and health care services.
  • Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop program goals and concepts accordingly, and work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, and community groups and organizations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain personal composure, evaluate situations, and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients, and difficult situations.
  • Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
  • Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
