Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluates and Diagnoses Patients: Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnoses of patients to identify mental health conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
  2. Provides Holistic Care: Works collaboratively with patients and their care teams to provide comprehensive mental health care, including medication management and therapy.
  3. Documents Patient Information: Accurately documents patient information, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication records.
  4. Consults with Colleagues: Consults with behavioral health team members to ensure comprehensive care and address complex patient needs.
  5. Orders Diagnostic Studies: Orders and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests to inform treatment decisions.
  6. Participates in Staffing Meetings: Participates in regular staffing meetings to discuss patient cases, provide medical reviews, and collaborate with colleagues.
  7. Maintains Patient Records: Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, including behavioral health patient reports and records.
  8. Trains Healthcare Professionals: Participates in the training of nurse practitioners, medical students, and medical residents to ensure the development of skilled healthcare professionals.
  9. Collaborates with Midlevel Providers: Serves as a collaborating physician for midlevel providers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  10. Performs Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  1. Licensed Physician: Must be licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin and hold a valid DEA license.
  2. Psychiatry Residency: Must have completed a Psychiatry Residency from an accredited Psychiatry Program.
  3. Board Certification: Must be board certified or eligible for Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  4. Cultural Competence: Must have a working knowledge of social and cultural factors associated with the community's use of social and health care services.
  5. Effective Communication: Must be able to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
  6. Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representatives, health care personnel, and community groups and organizations.
  7. Confidentiality: Must be able to identify and maintain confidential material.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: Must be able to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
