Job Summary:

The Dishwasher position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean work environment at Saint Joseph's College. As a key member of the Food Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established cleaning procedures and protocols.
  • Practice cleaning-as-you-go techniques to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
  • Exercise safe techniques and practices when interacting with equipment, food products, chemicals, and personnel.
  • Ensure that utensils, plates, glasses, and other equipment are plentiful and clean for guests.
  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation and be cross-trained to work various food service stations.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to help others.
  • Interest in training and learning new skills.
  • Promotes and practices the values of Saint Joseph's College and the Sisters of Mercy.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures, including adherence to Maine State Food Code and OSHA guidelines.

Working Conditions:

This is a per diem position with night and weekend hours, requiring flexible scheduling.
