Dishwasher Assistant

About the Role:

The Dishwasher position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean work environment at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. As a member of the Pearsons Cafe team, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established cleaning procedures and protocols.
• Practicing cleaning-as-you-go techniques to ensure a smooth and efficient food service operation.
• Exercising safe techniques and practices when interacting with equipment, food products, chemicals, and colleagues.
• Ensuring utensils, plates, glasses, and other items are readily available for guests without compromising cleanliness.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation and being cross-trained to work various food service stations.
• Supporting the Safety Manual guidelines and adhering to all Health Department, OSHA, and ADA regulations.
• Providing a high standard of safety and sanitation in the food operations area.

Requirements:

• Valid ServSafe certification in proper sanitation procedures and safe food handling.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts, with a 40-hour workweek and 12-month commitment.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment.
• Interest in training and willingness to learn new skills.
• Promotes and practices the values of the College and the Sisters of Mercy.
