Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Process Management: Oversee all aspects of manufacturing processes, including planning, scheduling, and controlling the flow of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure efficient and timely shipment of high-quality products in compliance with production schedules.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and reporting in all manufacturing facilities.
  • Production Review and Scheduling: Conduct weekly production review meetings with production management and team leaders to meet on-time delivery demands. Evaluate production scheduling reports and adjust production schedules as necessary to reflect changes in priorities.
  • Employee Management: Recruit, train, and supervise employees to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Business Planning and Forecasting: Work with Sales, Finance, and senior management to establish annual business forecasts.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain constant communication with management staff and vendors to ensure proper operations within the organization.
  • Process Improvement: Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity, using lean manufacturing concepts and principles.
  • Operational Budgeting: Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
  • Culture and Motivation: Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale. Motivate employees by communicating a clear vision that enables all employees to understand the company-wide objectives.
  • Team Development: Lead and build team capabilities by working with individuals on performance improvement, career planning, training, and skills development.
  • Technical Interaction: Technical interaction with engineering to evaluate manufacturability of new opportunities.
  • OSHA Compliance: Versed in OSHA requirements to ensure compliance of all safety regulations.
  • Skills Development: Develops, communicates, and executes a skills matrix and an apprentice training program.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drives a continuous improvement methodology and promotes cost savings.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyzes and reports on key performance indicators, completing root cause analyses, and developing and executing action items while removing barriers and addressing issues.
  • Operational Management: Manage the functions associated with scheduling, purchasing, inventory control and management, manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance.
  • ISO Standards: Experience with ISO standards and implementations.
  • Quality Control: Work with Quality department on quality control issues, including resolving non-conforming material issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Drive regulatory/legal compliance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 6-years of Manufacturing Operational leadership experience working in a manufacturing product-related business.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience in a LEAN manufacturing environment is required with demonstrated success in continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Metal stamping, machining, bearing basics, manufacturing equipment and subassembly knowledge are a plus.
  • OEE: Experienced in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) as a measure of how well a manufacturing operation is utilized compared to its full potential.
  • Production Scheduling: Solid understanding of Production Scheduling/Planning utilizing KANBAN principles.
  • Cost Justification: Manage the functions associated with scheduling, purchasing, inventory control and management, manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance strong cost justification development and oversight skills.
  • Conflict Management: Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of general business software (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook) and aptitude to learn new applications.
  • ERP Systems: Knowledge of ERP systems (Syteline a plus).
  • Adaptability: Resilient and flexible, able to multitask and prioritize with an innate ability to understand and accept change and motivate others around change.
