With a workforce exceeding 2,000 employees nationwide, we deliver academic, vocational training, and placement services to around 9,000 young individuals aged 16 to 24, primarily in a residential environment. Our accredited academic and vocational training programs culminate in nationally recognized industry credentials.
POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves ensuring the availability and proper storage of food, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities include assisting in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness in all food service areas to uphold sanitation standards.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION
This position may involve supervising Job Corps' Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Transfer food, supplies, and equipment between storage and kitchen/cafeteria.
2. Prepare fruits and vegetables as needed.
3. Set up and dismantle tables and chairs.
4. Clean and store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
5. Sanitize kitchen, cafeteria, and food storage areas.
6. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, stoves, and ovens.
7. Perform floor maintenance including sweeping, mopping, and waxing.
8. Manage trash disposal appropriately.
9. Ensure proper sanitation of vent screens and filters.
10. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
11. Produce high-quality work in a timely and accurate manner.
12. Maintain attendance and productivity standards.
13. Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
14. Apply job knowledge effectively to fulfill responsibilities.
15. Mentor and model Career Success Standards as outlined by the PRH.
16. Provide quality supervision and management for students, fostering a respectful environment.
17. Ensure that student needs are met and services are continuously improved.
18. Communicate ideas and information clearly and contribute to team efforts.
19. Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate solutions before taking action.
20. Collaborate with staff across departments to enhance student services.
21. Accept direction from supervisory staff and adapt to various roles as needed.
22. Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Experience in food service operations is desirable. Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification is mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The role involves various physical activities including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assess lifting loads to request assistance when necessary.
