Medical Claims Specialist

At Covenant Health (Tennessee), we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Claims Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional support to our clinic operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate follow-up of claim issues, managing accounts receivable, and responding to inquiries from insurance carriers, patients, office managers, and other staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with supervisors to handle assigned tasks and demonstrate expertise in State and Federal regulations, HCFA guidelines, and Third Party Payor requirements.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with patients, coworkers, physicians, and office personnel using verbal, nonverbal, and written communication techniques.
- Process incoming telephone inquiries on assigned patient accounts while adhering to CMG policies.
- Analyze and explain charges, services, insurance coverage, financial application guidelines, and office policy regarding payment of patient bills.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, managers, department director, and other office personnel to perform assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of one to two years of experience in Physician Billing, Business Office, or Patient Accounts/Customer Service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
This full-time position comes with an estimated salary range of $45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
