Senior Critical Facilities Engineer
Position Summary


This role involves a skilled specialist who undertakes tasks requiring significant judgment. The focus is on responsibilities that demand a high level of skilled judgment and a comprehensive understanding of standard operating procedures. The position supports the overall team objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance

- Conduct specialized preventative and corrective maintenance on-site for critical facility components and systems.

- Execute moderately complex repairs, maintenance, installations, and inspections for critical facility systems.

- Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and address alarms for specialized issues, applying considerable judgment and following standard procedures while making recommendations for solutions.

- Operate and maintain plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systems.

- Implement energy efficiency initiatives.

- Collaborate with team members to coordinate critical infrastructure tasks.

- Engage in assignments that require significant judgment and initiative, understanding the implications of work and providing recommendations for solutions.

Vendor Coordination

- Direct and coordinate vendors on skilled tasks to ensure maintenance activities adhere to standards and requirements.

- Assist in creating and submitting maintenance scripts.

- Oversee the work approval process for service providers involved in critical maintenance, including briefing at the start of work, monitoring throughout the workday/shift, and conducting final reviews of completed work.

- Collaborate with vendors to update technical files for plants and equipment, ensuring accuracy and currency.

Site Administration & Incident Management

- Maintain specialized site logs and gather data for permit issuance, such as Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) and scripts.

- Identify Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and propose solutions.

- Respond to all on-site incidents, including failures, significant issues, and delays.

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommend solutions.

- Support on-site staff during incidents.

- Ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.

Work Orders & Additional Projects

- Complete skilled work requests and circuit installations.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of office equipment as necessary; assist with auxiliary equipment and machines to minimize downtime.

- Implement moderate changes to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems as directed.

- Execute more complex infrastructure projects.

- Support life cycle maintenance and critical replacements for infrastructure projects.

- May recommend infrastructure projects.

Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with others to resolve challenging facility incidents.

- Foster effective collaboration within the department; may mentor team members on skilled maintenance tasks.

- Communicate inventory needs to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment, and assist in coordinating inventory maintenance processes.

- Act as a mentor to others in incident resolution.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

- High School Diploma.
