Job Summary

The Nisqually Indian Tribe is seeking a highly skilled Audit Agent to join our Tribal Gaming Agency. As an Audit Agent, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with the Tribal-State Compact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with the Tribal-State Compact.
  • Track and analyze win/loss and hold percentages for all games.
  • Investigate unusual fluctuations in table games hold percentages and losses meeting the predetermined threshold.
  • Monitor for inconsistencies in table, machine, dealer, or cashier operations and report to the Internal Auditor as required.
  • Review player tracking rewards and reports for suspicious activity.
  • Maintain a database of operational overages and shortages in gaming departments.
  • Review Operations Employee evaluations conducted by Surveillance monitors for inconsistencies.
  • Conduct monthly reviews and analysis of Operations Financial Statements for Commission Review.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the annual audit plan and other internal audits.
  • Perform audit reviews of Class II and Class III gaming activities and departments.
  • Observe and test gaming activities to ensure compliance with all applicable tribal, federal, and state regulations and laws.
  • Write audit reports describing the results of audit reviews, findings requiring corrective actions, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Train and assist Investigations Agents in accounting and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Review all gaming control policies and procedures for compliance and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Assist with the review of casino promotions for compliance with Compact, NIGC, and State regulations.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of the departmental operating budget.
  • Maintain all audit-related files and historical audit information.
  • Assist with special projects and/or audits as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Perform case investigations as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field and five years' work experience in gaming, accounting, auditing, finance, or a related field, or a comparable combination of experience and/or education
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Nisqually Tribal Gaming license
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy

Must be able to tolerate working in a smoke-filled environment
