Job Summary

The Nisqually Indian Tribe seeks a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Program Director to lead the development and implementation of its wellness programs. This key leadership position is responsible for providing strategic oversight and planning, leadership, and direction to the wellness program staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the wellness program staff.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that meet accepted professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including budget development and management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement prevention and early intervention programs.
  • Administer state and federal grants and ensure compliance with funding agreements.
  • Facilitate coordination of services with Tribal, State, and County justice system agencies and external behavioral health providers.
  • Support coordination of services and/or client advocacy with other tribal programs.
  • Participate on a multi-disciplinary team that plans for continuous improvement and coordination of client services.

Requirements:

  • Master's or other advanced degree in social services, community health education, or public administration.
  • Active, unencumbered WA State license for practice (LMHC, LMFT, LASW, LICSW, Licensed Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist) AND/OR current WA State Substance Use Disorder Professional certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in behavioral health systems and a minimum of five years working as a Senior Level Behavioral Health Administrator with responsibilities over multiple program areas.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable under the Tribes Insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Tribes and Native Communities.
