Job Overview

The YMCA of Southern Maine seeks a highly skilled Program Director to lead our Aquatics program at the Greater Portland Branch. Reporting to the Executive, this individual will oversee aquatic operations, manage staff, and coordinate swim lessons and teams while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire staff to deliver exceptional service and promote high morale.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Manage staffing administration, training requirements, and data tracking.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality programs aligned with YMCA standards.
  • Build relationships to promote the YMCA's mission and drive growth.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Relevant certifications, including lifeguard, CPR, and swim instruction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in software systems and detail-oriented approach.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.

Salary: $60,000 - $62,000 (dependent on experience)
