Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Facilities and Operations to join our team at the University of Miami. This is a full-time position that will be responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of new and renovated facilities, as well as overseeing the maintenance and operations of existing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the planning, design, and construction of new and renovated facilities, including administrative and instructional design criteria.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of existing facilities, including space planning, equipment placement, and technical support.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for facilities management, including budget management and personnel management.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Manage and coordinate agendas, meetings, and workflows for all project meetings and communications.
  • Conduct reviews of facilities plans and oversee the implementation of projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes, University policies, and Institutional standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, including Architecture or Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in facilities management, construction, or a related field.
  • Architectural drafting experience and knowledge of project control and phasing of construction activities.
  • Knowledge of construction financial matters, including schedule of values and payment approval.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and construction quality control systems, including inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field, including Architecture or Engineering.
  • Professional certifications, such as LEED AP or PE.
  • Experience with project management software and tools, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
