Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team at L3Harris. As an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft systems, including turbofan engines, airframes, flight control systems, and landing gear rigging. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting systems, performing daily and turnaround inspections, and conducting corrosion inspections and related treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain EC37B aircraft in support of aircrew missions.
• Launch and recover aircraft, including tie-down, cover, and plug removal/installation, and perform required inspections to ensure airframe structure and power plant serviceability.
• Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft components. Perform functional checks of fuel, hydraulic, engines, avionics, and electro-environmental systems.
• Advise supervision of deficiencies affecting aircraft airworthiness.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) established procedures/specifications.
• Prepare and maintain aircraft maintenance records and historical documents.
• Monitor/review deficiency reports for adverse trends.
• Use applicable technical data/manuals when performing aircraft maintenance, and to troubleshoot aircraft/system discrepancies.
• Perform in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions. Research, order, and receive aircraft parts.
• Prepare parts for turn-in back into the supply system. Initiate material deficiency reports as required.
• Inventory aircraft support equipment.
• Maintain hand and special tools in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Responsible for site, customer, and company tool accountability procedures, including reporting unserviceable tools and equipment to the appropriate responsible party.
• Annotate equipment/tools inspection and condition documents.
• Perform serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipment.
• Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assist other mechanics/specialists as required.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, security, and housekeeping standards.
• Comply with training requirements.
• Assist in training newly assigned personnel as required.
• Operate vehicles, both special purpose and regular, as authorized.
• Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
• Assist assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining the reparability and serviceability of these assets.
• Monitor bench stock items and tool inventory inspections.
• Actively participate in the Safety Program.
• Refer to hazardous material training and ensure HAZMAT processes are followed.
• Assist in aircraft movement flight line FOD prevention walks as required.
• Complete maintenance documentation using required forms.
• Service aircraft with fuel, oil, grease, hydraulic fluid, air, oxygen, and nitrogen.
• Perform aircraft corrosion control procedures, including wash, wipe down, polish, and vacuum.
• Discuss discrepancies with aircrews to secure adequate troubleshooting information and flight data.
• Other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.
• Maintain strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Two (2) to six (6) years aircraft mechanic level experience to be considered.
• Strongly prefer recent Gulfstream Global Jet, or business jet experience on civilian and military platforms, including Rolls Royce turbofan experience.
• Current FAA A&P certificate required.
• Must be able to work shifts as assigned and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team if required. CONUS and OCONUS deployment is required.
• Must be in good physical condition and capable of completing/passing a required physical exam and CRC course prior to OCONUS deployment.
• Must be able to work in the established work/living environment, work shift schedules as assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements.
• Experience in the use of common hand and special tools/testers as required for aircraft maintenance.
• Must have in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must have a current civilian driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim DOD secret government security clearance as a minimum prior to hire.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications, read, interpret, follow, and basic comprehension of schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts.
• Must have a working knowledge (input and extract data) of maintenance database technology.
Physical Demands:
This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception.
Work Environment:
The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.

US Citizenship
Valid State Drivers License
Valid US Passport
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
