The Opportunity

We are seeking a Data Science Business Relationship Manager to join our Global Data Science & Analytics (GDSA) team within Abbott Medical Devices. This role will support the development and implementation of various data science projects executed by the GDSA team in multiple locations.

The GDSA team delivers data science solutions to internal stakeholders using machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, data mining, and visualization techniques. We leverage a wide variety of healthcare data, including health insurance claims, internal Abbott device data, and Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Job Responsibilities

This position involves directing data science projects conducted by GDSA. The successful candidate will understand business needs (e.g., Marketing, Commercial/Sales, Clinical) and work with the scientists/engineers to design and execute projects that meet those needs.

The primary function of this role is to ensure data science projects effectively address business goals.

Key Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Business, Life Science/Biomedical Engineering, or Software-related field OR an equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in medical devices or health care analytics, including experience with a global company.
  • Innovative thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing project initiatives across multiple functions and/or business units.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business model.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment – multi-tasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally (specifically to Mumbai, India).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in data science/analytics, particularly with insurance claims data, would be beneficial. Additionally, knowledge of medical claims billing/coding could be advantageous.

Estimated Salary Range

$95,000 - $190,000 annually, depending on location.
