About the Role

As a Cloud Architecture Director at Humana, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining data processing architectures and solutions that enable efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale.

This leadership position requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment. You will oversee a section of Humana's data platforms via a foundation of innovation, scalability, and security to provide leading-edge solutions for enhanced data business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Inspire, coach, and mentor a team of Data Platform Engineers that design, develop, deploy, and enhance new and existing data platforms, providing guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  2. Collaborative Influencer: Develop strong relationships with IT Leaders to enhance our data platform strategy and spearhead cross-functional teams to deliver data platform solutions.
  3. Data Platform Architecture: Collaborate with architects and data engineers to design scalable, recoverable, and reliable data platform architectures.
  4. Data Platform Enablement: Provide leadership to enable data platforms, systems, and infrastructure across our data center and cloud data environments.
  5. Data Platform Delivery: Oversee the management and provisioning of data platform infrastructure resources to support business functions.
  6. Data Platform Support: Provide guidance to data platform operational support teams.
  7. Innovation and Growth: Stay up-to-date with the evolving data platform landscape, ensuring Humana remains a leader in technical innovation.
  8. Automation: Implement automation processes for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment of data platform services.
  9. Budget Management: Manage to budget requirements for a data platform engineering team.
  10. Vendor Relationship Management: Oversee the managing and monitoring of Humana vendors.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree: In computer science or a related field.
  2. Technical experience: 6 or more years.
  3. IT personnel management experience: 2 or more years.
  4. Cloud based data warehouse and data lake technologies: 3 or more years of in-depth experience.
  5. Broad technology experience: Across several areas including cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, security, storage, DevOps, containers, CI/CD, cloud migrations, and IT transformation.
  6. Complex highly available mission critical data platform environments: Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining.
  7. Enterprise level systems: Experience with large-scale systems and managing data at scale.
  8. Multiple public cloud providers: Experience with.
  9. Strong communication & presentation skills: With a high degree of comfort speaking with Executives, IT Management, and Technical SMEs.
  10. Flexible environment: Comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities.
  11. Technically creative and open-minded: With a broad understanding of Information Technology solutions.
  12. Passionate about contributing: To an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
