About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Administrator to join our team at O'Connor Construction Management, Inc. (OCMI). As a key member of our onsite team in New Haven, CT, you will play a pivotal role in managing contract documentation and ensuring compliance across various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Review and Management: Review construction contract documents, produce contracts with a keen eye towards mitigating financial risks, and ensure the enforceability of contract provisions for a prestigious major capital improvement program at a leading scientific research institution.
  • Contract Administration: Determine appropriate contract type and other conditions of the contract to protect the company from unnecessary liability or exposure to risk. Ensure that contracts follow Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances, and policies.
  • Insurance and Compliance: Review and ensure insurance documentation for construction and consultant contracts for compliance with contractual terms.
  • Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve possible conflicts between the contract request and standard contracts, terms and conditions, regulations, or written policies and procedures or other documents.
  • Vendor Selection and Contracting: Administer internal procedures related to vendor selection, bidding, and contracting that are consistent with policies.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in contract administration, construction management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to navigate contractual language, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, proficiency in project management software and tools, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
