Nurse Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Consultant to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our Facility Licensing and Investigations Section, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of care and safety in our healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct on-site inspections and surveys of healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide consultation and guidance to healthcare facilities on nursing services, home health care, and specialized public health issues.
- Evaluate the quality of services provided by healthcare facilities and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor facilities during strikes and prepare relevant reports and forms.
- Testify in court as needed to support findings and investigations.
- Four years of experience as a professional nurse in a position involving administration, consultation, education, or supervision.
- Two years of the General Experience must have been in a public health nursing program, home health care agency, community health care setting, or in a hospital.
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of the General Experience.
- A Master's degree in health services administration, nursing, or public health may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience.
- Experience organizing data and evaluating and analyzing proper care and treatment in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and professional standards in healthcare.
- Experience with computerized data bases, electronic medical records, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with conducting investigations and documenting facts, findings, and outcomes.
- Experience with independently interviewing consumers, healthcare providers, and healthcare beneficiaries.
